Crowns

Plastic Mold

A dental crown acts as a "cap" used to address the damaged portion of a tooth to give it extra strength. Dental crowns are a durable, long-lasting solution used to repair and support a damaged tooth. Dental crowns can be secured using a dental implant to create a durable solution for patients who are missing teeth.

Dental crowns are permanently bonded into place for an effective cosmetic and restorative solution used to address:

  • Discolored teeth
  • Completing a dental implant
  • Supporting tooth post root canal
  • Chipped teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Cracked teeth
  • Fractured teeth
  • Strengthen anchor teeth

Our team is highly trained in restorative and cosmetic dentistry and offers custom-designed crowns in our dental office. Dental crowns are made from a high-quality ceramic or porcelain material that can be color-matched and designed to blend seamlessly with your natural smile.

What to Expect

Double A Dental Group uses advanced technology to design, fabricate, and place quality ceramic and porcelain dental crowns during a single visit. Using E4-D digital technology, we can create a beautiful, custom crown to restore a damaged tooth or replace a broken crown.

Receiving dental crowns will typically require two visits to our dental office. A local anesthetic is applied to numb the affected area. We also offer sedation dentistry for patients with dental fear and anxiety to promote a more comfortable experience. Dr. Izvernari will prepare the tooth by removing any decay from the tooth. A small amount of surface structure will also be removed from the tooth.

Dental impressions are taken and sent to a skilled local ceramist for fabrication. The dental crown is shaped, modeled, sized, and color-matched to blend naturally with your existing smile.

Once fabricated, the dental crown is examined for fit and comfort. The dental crown is then permanently bonded into place

If your new crown is being placed using CAD/CAM technology, we will use digital impressions to design, mill, and place your new dental crown during your visit. Your dentist will discuss your treatment options based on your needs and goals.

Dental Implant Supported Crowns

Implant Supported Crown

For patients who are missing a single tooth, an implant supported dental crown is the most natural and durable solution. A dental implant is a small metal post that resembles a screw and is surgically implanted into the jaw at the location of the missing tooth. This post will actually replace the missing tooth root. This tooth replacement option is the only solution that will reduce the chance of bone loss. After the surgical implantation, you will need about three to six months to heal and allow the post to fully integrate with the surrounding bone.

Next, a small piece called an abutment will be attached to the fully integrated implant. Impressions will be taken, and your custom dental crown will be fabricated. When your crown is ready, it will be attached to the abutment for a permanent restoration.

Dental Bridges

Selecting Veneers

If you suffer from missing teeth, it is important to replace them as soon as possible. Gaps between teeth can leave the gums open to infection and bacteria, and over time, the bone can deteriorate and affect the surrounding teeth. Our dental office offers many options to replace missing teeth, including dental bridges.

A dental bridge is a custom-made dental restoration used to replace one missing tooth or several consecutive missing teeth. A dental bridge can be secured using existing teeth or dental implants for a more stable solution. Due to advancements in dentistry, a dental bridge can be designed to fit comfortably and securely in the mouth.

Our team offers custom-designed dental bridges in our Montclair-based dental office. For a more secure solution, our team can coordinate all aspects of implant-secured dental bridges in-house. A dental bridge is designed using high-quality material and state-of-the-art technology.

What to expect

If you are missing one or more teeth, our team will perform an extensive oral health exam and analysis to determine the right restorative dentistry treatment to restore your smile. Our team will consult with you one-on-one to discuss your treatment options. Together will make an informed decision about your tooth replacement solution.

Placing a dental bridge will depend on whether or not your dental bridge will be supported by adjacent teeth or dental implants.

If dental implants are used to secure your dental bridge, the first step is to attach the dental implants to the jaw surgically. An implant is a titanium post that will act as the tooth root, providing a strong foundation for the bridge. Typically, the healing process will take 3-6 months. When the healing process is complete, your custom-designed dental bridge will be fit and placed.

For traditional dental bridges, the bridge is supported using adjacent teeth. A pontic replaces the missing tooth, and crowns are placed on the anchor teeth for extra support.

Implant Secured Dental Bridge

Implant Supported Bridge

Traditional dental bridges are a cost-effective solution for patients who are missing teeth. Dental bridges are designed to blend seamlessly with your natural smile. A traditional dental bridge is supported by two adjacent teeth that serve as anchors (support system) for the dental bridge, requiring existing teeth to be compromised for the placement of dental crowns and the securing of the bridge.

A dental implant secured dental bridge is supported by strategically placed dental implants. Dental implants secured dental bridges do not compromise the health of the existing teeth, prevent bone loss and gum recession, and support the natural alignment of the bite. You will be able to eat, drink, and speak comfortably without special restrictions or risk of slippage.

While the cost of a traditional dental bridge may be more affordable in the short term than an implant-supported bridge, implants typically provide a better long-term solution and are less likely to need repair or replacement in the future. Those repairs and replacements may actually add up over time and may cost more than a dental implant. Even though implants are more expensive up front, the benefits far outweigh the costs.
